Imelda Schweighart Opens Up About Losing Her Baby During Competition
IMELDA SCHWEIGHART – The Miss Philippines Earth 2016 has revealed that she suffered a miscarriage during her participation in the Miss Grand International All Stars pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand. She shared the personal revelation through a heartfelt appreciation post for her boyfriend, Rafael Thibault, on Facebook on June 3, 2026, where she expressed gratitude for his constant support throughout her pageant journey and personal life.
In her message, Imelda also showed support for her boyfriend’s passion for surfing, noting how both of their lifestyles require significant time, effort, and financial commitment. She shared that despite their busy and demanding pursuits, they continue to support each other. She also reflected on their relationship, from simpler days of riding a borrowed motorcycle to building shared dreams together, while expressing her love and appreciation for him.
Imelda also mentioned how Rafael has been supportive not only of her career but also of her son, Noah, whom she has from a previous relationship. She shared that Rafael regularly helps care for her child, which she deeply values during this difficult period. She then revealed that she is currently recovering from a miscarriage that happened while she was competing in the pageant in Thailand around late May 2026. She expressed sadness over the loss but also shared hope that, in time, they would be able to try again.

She also admitted that she had been experiencing health challenges during the competition, including bleeding, which caused her to rest more often and reduce her participation in rehearsals. Despite this, she chose to continue with the competition, carefully managing her energy so she could still perform. She said she even had to miss rehearsals and was advised to rest by production staff, although she felt pressure to continue. She explained that she kept her condition private during the event and pushed through until the end.

Members of the pageant community later expressed sympathy and support after learning about her situation, with many praising her strength and resilience despite going through emotional and physical pain during the competition.
