Cobra King of Leyte Dies After Being Bitten by His Own Pet Snake

Cobra King of Leyte Succumbs to Cobra Bite

LEYTE – A man known in his community as the “Cobra King” in Samar reportedly died after being bitten by one of his own pet snakes.

The victim, identified as Danny, was known in his area for handling and caring for venomous snakes, especially cobras. Many people regarded him as skilled and experienced in dealing with dangerous animals, which made the incident unexpected and concerning.

Based on information shared online, the incident happened while he was holding one of his snakes. The cobra suddenly bit him, and the venom quickly affected his condition. His health reportedly worsened in a short period of time. Despite attempts by nearby individuals to assist him, he did not survive. As news of the incident spread, photos and videos of him handling cobras also circulated online, reinforcing his local reputation as the “Cobra King.”

Residents shared that he had long been accustomed to handling snakes and other dangerous animals. However, the incident highlights that even experienced individuals remain vulnerable to accidents involving venomous creatures.

At present, there is still no official confirmation from authorities regarding the full details of the incident, including the exact time, location, and immediate response after the bite. Because of this, various versions of the story continue to circulate on social media.

Meanwhile, cobras are dangerous because they are highly venomous snakes that can deliver a powerful neurotoxin through their bite. This venom affects the nervous system, which can lead to paralysis, breathing difficulties, and even death if not treated quickly. Cobras can strike quickly and accurately, often without much warning. Some species can also raise their upper body and spread their hood to appear larger and scare threats away. Their bites are especially dangerous because symptoms can worsen rapidly, and immediate medical treatment, such as anti-venom, is required. Without fast treatment, a cobra bite can become life-threatening.
