Ian de Leon: “Each family has its own issues.”
IAN DE LEON – The actor confirmed that he is currently handling the legal matters and legacy projects left by his late mother, Nora Aunor.
He organized her first death anniversary at the Libingan ng mga Bayani on April 16, 2026, describing the role as a responsibility he needs to fulfill. He clarified that he is not excluding his siblings and remains open to their involvement. He also shared that he is working to organize and speed up plans, including setting up a business under his mother’s name, which may later develop into a larger company where everyone can participate.
However, some family disagreements have become evident. A few of his siblings, including Lotlot de Leon, reportedly disagreed with his decisions and said they were not informed or consulted about the business and related projects. There were also concerns about his statement describing himself as the sole heir, especially since no official will was left. Some siblings even held a separate memorial, reflecting ongoing differences within the family. Despite this, Ian expressed hope that the situation will improve over time, noting that every family faces challenges, especially when in the public eye.

At the same time, Ian continues to focus on preserving his mother’s legacy. He shared plans to build a temporary museum in Manila that will feature her awards, costumes, and other memorabilia, with hopes of creating a permanent one in the future. He also invited fans to contribute items to help keep her memory alive. He mentioned that more projects are being prepared, with details to be shared at a later time.

On a personal level, Ian admitted that it remains difficult to accept his mother’s passing even after a year. He shared that his faith, prayers, and his children help him stay strong. Rather than focusing on grief, he chooses to honor her life by continuing her legacy and keeping her memory alive for future generations.
