Dee Hsu Opens Up About Guilt Over Barbie Hsu’s Passing
DEE HSU – The television host openly shared that she has been blaming herself for the death of her sister, Barbie Hsu, which happened during a family trip to Japan. Speaking on her talk show Dee Girls Talk, Dee reflected on how the vacation was planned and how events unfolded, expressing deep regret over her role in organizing the trip.
She recalled that it was unusual for Barbie to agree to travel, as she often preferred to stay home because she felt tired. However, on that occasion, Barbie strongly wanted to go, which encouraged the family to proceed with their plans.
Dee also mentioned that their mother had initially been hesitant about the trip because it coincided with Chinese New Year, a time when flights are more expensive and tourist destinations are more crowded. Despite these concerns, Dee, Barbie, and their older sibling decided to continue with the trip, looking forward to spending quality time together as a family, especially since their children would also be joining.

Because she was the one who first suggested the vacation, Dee admitted that she has been carrying a sense of guilt. She shared that whenever they remember Barbie, she cannot help but feel responsible and often thinks about how things might have turned out differently if she had not pushed for the trip. Although their mother has reassured her not to blame herself, explaining that doing so would only make it harder to move forward, Dee continues to struggle with these thoughts and question her decisions.

At present, Dee is trying to cope with her loss by keeping herself busy and slowly working toward healing. Despite the encouragement from her family, she is still processing her grief and learning to accept what happened.
