Taylor Sheesh recently opened up about her experiences with homophobia, discussing them in a light-hearted manner on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. Alongside fellow impersonator and comedian-host Nicki Morena, Taylor Sheesh courageously took part in the interview on the episode aired by Boy Abunda on Tuesday, May 7th.
While Taylor Sheesh proudly embraces her identity as a gay person, she also acknowledged feeling afraid in the past due to the discrimination she faced.
As per Taylor Sheesh, she has faced judgment for her homosexuality from a young age. She said, “Parang ‘yung automatic kapag bakla mahina…wala kang laban, tapos salot.”
Taylor Sheesh also admitted to feeling fearful during that time and even encountered violence from individuals who harbored dislike towards her.
“Takot ako no’n Tito Boy. Takot na takot…hindi ako nagsalita. Napili kong manahimik ng ilang taon,” she narrated.
Taylor Sheesh also said that she opted not to interact with people who continue to reject people like her within society.
“Mahirap kasi kapag nakipagtalo ka kasi alam mo ‘yun hindi nila maiintindihan. Sa bandang huli tuloy ikaw ‘yung magmumukhang masama. So mas gusto ko po rin sa chosen family kasi sila ‘yung mga nakakaintindi,” she said.
“Dati po mapagpatol ako , pero ngayon, sa sobrang busy wala na ako time,” she added.
