Angeli Khang is now part of Black Rider
ANGELI KHANG – The Vivamax A-lister is the latest addition to the growing list of artists appearing in Black Rider, the prime-time drama action series of GMA-7 led by Ruru Madrid.
Angeli began filming her scenes for Black Rider on April 10, 2024, and GMA-7 has announced that she is now part of the cast of the said prime-time series. Black Rider is Angeli’s very first television series, and she is thrilled to finally be seen on television.
For Angeli, her involvement in Black Rider signifies a significant step towards mainstream recognition, transitioning from her previous projects on Vivamax. In an interview conducted by Jojo Veloso, Angeli’s talent manager, with Cabinet Files in January 2024, plans were revealed regarding Angeli’s venture into mainstream cinema, reflecting the maturation of her career.
While there were no immediate offers for Angeli to join Black Rider at the time of the interview, Jojo Veloso expressed surprise at her swift transition to television prior to starring in a mainstream film. Angeli’s aptitude for acting, reminiscent of acclaimed actress Jaclyn Jose, has been evident since her early days in the industry.
In Black Rider, Angeli portrays the character of Nimfa Veloso, a woman abducted by members of the Golden Scorpion syndicate and revered as the last chaste resident of Isla Alakdan, making her off-limits to men. Beyond her on-screen persona, Angeli garners a following among male audiences due to her engaging performances on Vivamax. With her involvement in Black Rider, it is anticipated that Angeli’s contribution will enhance the appeal of GMA Network’s primetime action drama series among viewers, particularly among male viewers.
Meanwhile, Black Rider centers on the story of a delivery driver who becomes a vigilante on his motorcycle and faces a crime syndicate that threatens his city.
