CASSY LEGASPI – The Kapuso actress-host agreed with It’s Showtime mainstay Darren Espanto that she and the latter are just “best friends.”
In an interview with Aubrey Carampel of GMA News, Cassy affirmed Darren’s statement by saying, “It’s so hard to explain what we have, but we’re really just best friends.”
This aligns with Darren’s statement in his interview with TV Patrol on April 8, 2024, where he referred to Cassy as his “best friend.” Cassy also clarified that her Instagram posts, which netizens have called cryptic, are not aimed at anyone.
To recall, it was just recently when Jillian Ward appeared on It’s Showtime, and at that time, she and Darren were teased by other hosts. He later hinted at a collaboration between them. Aside from that, Darren was also teased with Kyline Alcantara, and they were suggested to do a production number of the song “We are family.”
Her twin brother, on the other hand, defended their mom Carmina Villaroel for her “cryptic” posts. According to him, their mother likes to post Bible verses and quotes. To recall, Carmina posted a quote on her Instagram following Darren’s revelation that he and her daughter are just friends.
“Ang daming nag-a-assume lang. Kaya si Mama lang, she just posts whatever she wants to post. Kasi it’s nothing related to whatever cases na nangyayari sa social media. She just posts it,” he said. “She has her own life. She has her own problem sa buhay niya. And maraming blessings sa buhay, kasi napakataas ng rating ng Abot Kamay [Na Pangarap]. So, continuous lang. We get to go out, have vacations, we get to having this time with co-actors, co-actresses,” he added.
Meanwhile, Cassy is now linked to her former co-host on ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya,’ Michael Sager. Darren, on the other hand, is single.
