Xian Gaza on Robin Padilla: “Isang senator na protektor ng kriminal”

Xian Gaza sees Robin Padilla as a senator who protects criminals

XIAN GAZA – The social media personality criticized Senator Robin Padilla’s defense of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, emphasizing that the controversial religious leader should not be seen as a victim despite facing allegations of serious crimes.

Xian argued that Quiboloy, hailed as a hero for fighting the NPA, should also be held accountable as a child rapist for allegedly abusing underage members of his church. “Kung siya po ay isang hero dahil nilabanan niya ang NPA, siya naman po ay isang child rapist dahil inabuso niya ang maraming menor de edad na miyembro ng kanyang Simbahan. Hindi porke mabuti siya sayo eh mabuti na siya sa lahat,” Xian said.

He condemned turning a blind eye to protect a friend, asserting that it disregards the suffering of victims. Xian questioned Padilla’s leadership, suggesting that prioritizing a friend’s welfare over citizens’ well-being portrays him as a protector of criminals rather than a leader. “Kung ikaw po ay nagbubulag-bulagan dahil gusto mo pong protektahan ang iyong kaibigan, ini-invalidate mo po yung mapapait na karanasan ng mga biktima niya,” Xian noted.

Meanwhile, Senator Robin Padilla advocated for leniency towards Pastor Apollo Quiboloy amidst a contempt order from the Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality. Padilla urged consideration for Quiboloy’s safety and his contributions to society during his privilege speech. He proposed issuing a Show Cause Order to Quiboloy at the next hearing to ensure fairness.

Padilla highlighted Quiboloy’s efforts in fighting the New People’s Army (NPA) through Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI). Alleged threats to Quiboloy’s safety require caution in public appearances, especially with pending US charges.

Padilla stressed fair treatment for Quiboloy, emphasizing his valuable contributions to the country and the need for a fair hearing. Quiboloy’s support through SMNI aided in convincing rebels to surrender, aligning with the government’s anti-insurgency efforts. Padilla concluded by asserting Quiboloy’s willingness to address allegations, seeking a fair hearing to uphold his rights and proper procedures.
