After Butt Lift Procedure, Woman Flees Clinic Without Paying PHP1.1 Million Bill
ROME – A female patient, still recovering from a butt lift procedure with drains attached, reportedly fled a clinic in Montesacro district, leaving behind unpaid medical bills totaling over PHP1 million.
This incident, extensively covered by Italian media, involved the patient escaping the morning after undergoing a six-hour surgery. Despite the medical staff’s efforts, the patient, wearing drains meant to collect post-operative fluids, managed to leave.
Plastic surgeon Maximilian Catenacci filed a complaint with the Fidene police station, confirming the incident. The total cost of the operation, including various fees and healthcare expenses, amounted to 20,000 euros (PHP1.2 million), of which the patient had only deposited 1,000 euros (PHP60,000).
Dr. Maximilian shared his frustration on Facebook, hoping for the return of the drains taken by the patient, which are crucial for her recovery.
Additionally, Dr. Maximilian posted a video featuring the incident on TG5 (TeleGiornale 5), a prominent Italian news program. While some sympathized with the doctor’s predicament, others questioned the sequence of events, citing the usual practice in Italy where payment precedes medical services.
Dr. Maximilian, known for his social media presence, has approximately 30,000 Facebook followers and 34,000 TikTok followers. On these platforms, he offers advice and showcases cosmetic surgeries performed on his patients. He also maintains a website detailing his services as a cosmetic and plastic surgeon.
Meanwhile, a butt lift procedure, also known as gluteoplasty or buttock lift surgery, is a cosmetic surgical procedure aimed at improving the appearance of the buttocks. It involves removing excess skin and fat from the buttocks area to lift and reshape the buttocks, resulting in a more toned and lifted appearance.
