Jaya’s Car Mishap En Route to Regine Velasquez’s California Concert
JAYA – Singer Jaya Gotidoc uploaded a video where she was seen being transported on a stretcher, along with a video revealing the damage sustained by her car in the aftermath of the accident.
In July 2021, Jaya said her goodbyes to ABS-CBN and her It’s Showtime family, opting to relocate to the United States with her family. Despite the difficulty of this decision, she looked for signs to guide her.
The Soul Diva recounted that after making the decision, they immediately found a new place to live, and her husband Gary Gotidoc secured employment right away. Jaya emphasized that she has no regrets about leaving her career in the Philippines and starting afresh in the US.
In August 2022, Jaya faced a life-threatening incident when her house burned down during her daughter’s 16th birthday celebration. She shared a photo revealing the aftermath, showing broken windows and a charred garage. Thankfully, none of her family members were harmed. They have since relocated to Richardson.
Having moved to the US during the pandemic, Jaya recently disclosed another challenging experience—being in a car crash with her friends while heading to Regine Velasquez’s concert. Through an Instagram update, the 53-year-old singer posted a video of herself on a stretcher, highlighting the damage sustained by their vehicle in the accident.
Additionally, she included a passage from the Book of Isaiah, stating, “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
“On a ride from Sacramento, California, on the way to Graton Casino to see my friends and watch Regine V’s concert… when all of a sudden we get into a car collision,” she recounted.
“My friend Dr. Josephine Weber was driving and with us was Auntie Merly Escolta (her cousin) when suddenly we got hit from the back,” Jaya continued.
The singer reassured her followers that she is “doing well,” while mentioning that her friends are still undergoing medical examinations. She expressed confidence that they will recover, relying on God’s grace. They will be alright, by God’s grace. “Thank you Jesus for sending us divine protection and covering us with your blood. It could’ve been super worse. I’m glad Doc and Auntie Merls are okay.”
“Please wear your seatbelts at all times when you are in a vehicle, especially if you’re a back seat passenger,” she said.
