The grandmother of television host Robi Domingo passed away on his wedding day
ROBI DOMINGO – The TV host expressed his grief over the passing of his grandmother who died on his wedding day last Saturday, January 6.
In his Instagram post on Tuesday, January 9, Robi shared a throwback photo with his grandmother and a picture with his wife Maiqui Pineda during her wake. “Bittersweet. January 6 was the happiest day of my life. My heart was filled with immense gratitude -from preps in the morning, to the ceremony, to the reception which lasted until dawn,” he noted.
According to Robi, as he was about to leave the place, his mom was sobbing as she tried to tell him that his grandmother had passed away that same morning. Apparently, his family didn’t inform them so that their focus could remain on their magical day.
The TV host also reminisced about the happy memories with his Lola, such as her care for him when he was still a toddler. “Ina’, as I fondly called her, took care of me especially when I was a toddler. I loved how she made her ube halaya and Leche flan sa llanera,” Robi recalled.
Meanwhile, in the comment section of his post, Robi also extended his gratitude to everyone who attended and greeted them on their wedding day with Maiqui.
“We wanted to thank a lot of people during the wedding, but it has been a rollercoaster ride for us these past few days. Our hearts are happy, but we apologize for the delay. We’ll just take a breather from all the happenings (emoji),” Robi said.
However, Robi Domingo did not give details about the funeral arrangement of his grandmother, as well as what could be their next plans as a married couple.
