Jiro Manio Reveals How He Used the P75,000 After Selling His Best Actor Trophy

Here’s the reason why Jiro Manio sold his Gawad Urian Best Actor trophy

JIRO MANIO – The multi-awarded former child actor revealed how he used the P75,000 after selling his Gawad Urian Best Actor trophy for the movie “Magnifico.”

Jiro won as Best Actor in the 27th Gawad Urian, two decades ago, for his performance in Magnifico. Recently, he went to the shop of Boss Toyo of Pinoy Pawnstars to sell his trophy.

According to him, he was forced to sell his trophy for only seventy-five thousand pesos for Christmas and New Year. “Yung PHP75,000 po from Pinoy Pawnstars ay ginamit ko pong panggastos namin ng family ko noong Christmas and New Year,” he told PEP.ph.

Jiro had the idea of selling his Gawad Urian trophy to Boss Toyo after watching the YouTube channel of a controversial content creator. Aside from his Gawad Urian best actor trophy, he also has other awards from FAMAS, Star Awards, Metro Manila Film Festival, Guillermo Box Office Awards, PASADO, and Gawad Tanglaw.

When asked if he also plans to sell his other trophies, he said: “Hahahaha! Let’s find out po kung ano ang totoo. Ang lahat ng awards ko po ay nasa akin pa.”

Jiro said it wasn’t difficult for him to let go of his Gawad Urian trophy. “Hindi naman po ako nahirapan dahil as part of my belongings, ipinagkatiwala ko naman po ‘yon kay Boss Toyo at lahat naman po ay naging sigurado,” he said.

Despite many urging him to revive his acting career, Jiro is determined to find another job. As of now, he’s happy with his family. He noted that he’s helping his family and is trying to recover from the past. In the same interview, Jiro Manio admits to having mental health challenges, which led him astray, but he claims to be correcting those mistakes now.
