Ian Veneracion Talent Fee Issue – Actor’s Camp Releases Statement

Camp of Ian Veneracion releases statement on talent fee issue of the actor

IAN VENERACION – The actor’s camp has denied the claims made by Ronaldo Carballo concerning the star’s alleged half-a-million talent fee.

The management team is considering legal action against the writer-director for what they perceive as online defamation. In a statement provided exclusively to Inquirer.net, Veneracion’s camp condemned Carballo’s post as malicious and an effort to publicly disgrace the actor.

His camp asserted that Carballo failed to verify information on Veneracion’s talent fee and instead engaged in online behavior that undermined journalistic principles. They are exploring legal options to address what they consider online defamation by Carballo.

Furthermore, Veneracion’s management highlighted their commitment to confidentiality and transparency in all business dealings, a principle they claim Carballo violated by publicly accusing the actor of demanding a P500,000-talent fee on Facebook. The statement clarified that the reported budget in Carballo’s post was inconsistent with their discussions, and they did not request additional charges.

The team acknowledged the necessity of discussing standard rates and availability for certain appearances but pointed out inaccuracies in Carballo’s claims. They clarified that their communication for the specific event involved a friend of the coordinator.

Despite efforts to correct misinformation, Veneracion’s team encountered resistance from Carballo, who blocked them on social media and refused communication. This, coupled with the alleged online defamation, prompted Veneracion’s team to consider legal action.

“In our business dealings, we acknowledge that negotiations are a standard practice and are open to discussions with professionals across various fields, be it artists, graphic designers, editors, or others. However, it’s crucial to approach these negotiations with respect and professionalism,” it said.

“The reaction to the rate, whether perceived as too high or too low, should be handled appropriately. Professional rates are set based on a myriad of factors, including experience, expertise, and market standards,” it added. “It is disheartening when these rates are met with attempts to undervalue the professional’s worth through lowballing.”
