Why Cristy Fermin Will Not Vote for Willie Revillame in the 2025 Election?
CRISTY FERMIN – The entertainment columnist stated that she would not vote for Willie Revillame in the 2025 senatorial elections.
This comes after Willie expressed his readiness to run for senator in the year 2025. Earlier, Willie announced his readiness to enter the senatorial race in the 2025 midterm elections, expressing his desire to be a devoted public servant serving his fellow countrymen.
During a prayer rally in Davao City on January 28, Revillame disclosed his intention to run for senator, reminiscing about a past offer from then-President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go to join their party’s senatorial lineup. He explained that he had to decline the offer at that time due to contractual obligations with the show “Wowowin.”
“Last March, two years ago after ng COVID-19 (pandemic), pinatawag po ako ni Sen. Bong Go at ng mahal na pangulo [Rodrigo Duterte] at ako ay kinausap nila sa Malacañang. ‘Yun po yung pinapatakbo niya ako bilang senator. During that time, meron akong programa sa GMA, ‘yung Wowowin,” he recounted.
“Sabi ko, ‘Mahal na pangulo, meron pa po akong kontrata at hindi ko pa po kaya. Pag handa na po ako, pag-iisipan ko.’ Sabi nila, ‘Kung ano ang nasa puso mo, sundin mo. Kung ano ang nasa isip mo, ‘yan ang sundan mo.’ Hindi po nila ako pinilit,” he added.
Revillame emphasized that his decision was reached after days of prayer, deep contemplation, and careful consideration of the trust given to him by Duterte and Go. “Nag-dasal ako at hindi ako nakatulog, at naluluha ako dahil isang karangalan sa katulad kong TV host, na alukin ng isang presidente ng Pilipinas, na magsilbi sa bayan.”
On her show, “Cristy FerMinute,” the entertainment columnist said that she won’t vote for Revillame in the 2025 senatorial election. She mentioned that it’s challenging when a person helps but later complains. She also criticized Willie for saying that he would follow whatever former President Rodrigo Duterte said.
According to Cristy, Willie should do what is right as a public servant and not just blindly follow. It’s worth noting that Cristy criticized Willie after he mentioned the assistance he provided to her.
