GSIS Christmas Cash Gifts will be distributed starting December 6, 2023
GSIS CHRISTMAS CASH GIFTS – The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) said that it will start releasing the cash gifts to old-age and disability pensioners on December 6, 2023.
In a statement, GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso said that the pension fund has allocated a total of more than PHP 3.47 billion for this year’s Christmas cash gifts, benefiting approximately 300,000 eligible pensioners.
According to Veloso, the amount distributed will be equivalent to one month’s pension, with a maximum limit of PHP 10,000.
Veloso said that they’re announcing the news early because they know that pensioners are eagerly anticipating it, adding that this will allow pensioners to plan when they can withdraw their money and also decide what they will buy with the amount they will receive.
According to Veloso, the Christmas cash gift is available to old-age and disability pensioners who are currently receiving their regular monthly pensions and are also living as of November 30, 2023.
“Kung suspindido ang inyong pension as of December 31, 2023 dahil hindi kayo nakapag-comply sa Annual Pensioners Information Revalidation (APIR), ibibigay pa rin po namin ang cash gift ninyo pagkatapos ninyong mag-APIR,” Veloso said.
Dependent pensioners, survivorship pensioners, pensioners under RA 7699 (Portability Law), and pensioners receiving pro-rata pension are not eligible to receive the Christmas cash gift.
Also not eligible to receive the cash gift at this time are new pensioners who started receiving immediate pension and 18-month cash payment under Republic Act 8291 between 2019 and 2023 as new pensioners will become eligible to receive the cash gift 5 years after their retirement date.
Retirees who received a five-year lump sum and will resume their regular monthly pension after December 31, 2023 are not eligible for the Christmas cash gift.
Aside from this, members who were separated from government service between 2006 and 2023 before reaching the age of 60, and who started receiving their regular monthly pension in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, or 2023 are also not eligible to receive the cash gift.
The Social Security System, meanwhile, said that it will start releasing the 13th month pension to its pensioners on December 1, 2023.
