KUYA KIM – Netizens have criticized the GMA Network TV host and trivia master for his comment on Kamikazee lead vocalist Jay Contreras’ cryptic post.

The Filipino rock band is currently gaining attention online after being ejected by Sorsogon Governor Edwin “Boboy” Hamor and not allowed to perform at the Casiguran Town Fiesta 2023 on Sunday, October 1. In a GMA News report, Sorsogon’s Public Information Officer, Dan Mendoza, explained that the governor became upset with the band after they refused to take a picture with the “16,000 blue roses,” a tourist attraction in the province.

The band allegedly agreed to the photo op but did not show up at the venue. “Inuulit ko, hindi tayo pwede bastusin…Pinipilit ko, pinipilit ko na itaas ang dignidad ng bawat Sorsoganon,” the governor said. The governor emphasized that Kamikazee is banned in Sorsogon. To cheer up disappointed fans, he announced that he’s bringing “Unkabogable Star” Vice Ganda and “Popstar Royalty” Sarah Geronimo to the province.

Meanwhile, on Instagram, Jay posted three black and white photos with the caption: “Choose/I Choose Love.” Apparently, Jay did not provide any context for the caption of his post, but some quickly connected it to their pressing issue. Among those who commented on his post is Kuya Kim.
