Netizen Airs Dismay After his ‘Pamangkin’ Who Stopped for 2 Years is Not Qualified to Enroll

Returning college student not qualified to enroll?

NOT QUALIFIED TO ENROLL – A netizen took to social media to express his frustration after his relative was denied college enrollment due to a two-year gap in studies.

In a Facebook post, Mikhail T. Pilar shared his disappointment as his unnamed nephew or niece was deemed ineligible for enrollment at La Carlota City College after a two-year hiatus from studies.

Pilar questioned whether the institution had such a policy and wondered why a student who had paused their education couldn’t resume it. He mentioned his intention to address his concern with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and sought clarification from the Department of Education Region 6 office.

Here’s the post:

“ang Hinablos ko ma continue eskwela mapa enroll nasa sa La Carlota City College Official FB wala sa gin baton kay ila rason

His post has generated mixed reactions from the netizens. One user commented: “Nag-file ba sya ng absence / leave dati? Sa college kasi, pag nag AWOL ay need muna ma-settle yun prior to enrollment.” Another user wrote: “Ganun ba un paano kng wala pang finance sa pag aaral bago na ba patakaran subong?”

As of press time, La Carlota City College, as well as the Department of Education – Region 6, has not yet issued any statement regarding the issue.
