Pura Luka Vega Seeks Financial Support as He Faces Trial This September

As he faces trial this September, Pura Luka Vega is seeking financial support

PURA LUKA VEGA – The controversial drag artist is reportedly seeking financial support as he prepares to face trial this September for the lawsuits against him.

The drag artist, whose real name is Amadeus Fernando Pagente, gained attention after performing a dance to a remix version of “Ama Namin” or The Lord’s Prayer. His act drew significant criticism from netizens, politicians, celebrities, and religious groups.

As a result of his actions, he has been declared persona non grata in several local government units (LGUs), including Floridablanca in Pampanga, General Santos City, Toboso in Negros Occidental, Bukidnon, Manila City, Nueva Ecija, Cagayan de Oro, Laguna, Cebu City, Dinagat Islands, Occidental Mindoro, Lucena City in Quezon Province, Mandaue City in Cebu, Bohol, and Batangas City.

Subsequently, he released a statement via Twitter (now known as X) in which he expressed his confusion about what he had done wrong to warrant being declared persona non grata by these LGUs. “Tell me EXACTLY what I did wrong. I’m open for a dialogue and yet cities have been declaring persona non grata without even knowing me or understanding the intent of the performance. Drag is art. You judge me yet you don’t even know me,” he remarked.

Later, he returned to the stage and briefly addressed the issue, stating, “Para sa mga ibang lugar na gustong mag-persona non grata diyan, dagdagan n’yo pa! Pakialam ko. ‘Yon lang po. Thank you po.”

However, earlier reports have surfaced indicating that drag artist Pura Luka Vega is seeking financial assistance as he faces trial. “Your donations will go to Luka’s family and transpo/food for their court dates this September,” the post explained. The post included a QR code for GCash donations.
