Woman with 800 Tattoos Struggles to Find a Job

Meet Melissa Sloan, a woman from Wales with 800 tattoos

MELISSA SLOAN – The 46-year-old woman from Wales has faced significant challenges in finding employment due to her 800 tattoos that cover her entire body.

Even working as a toilet cleaner became impossible after her facial tattoos drew negative attention. In interviews with UK media outlets, Melissa expressed her frustration with people who believed her job prospects were non-existent due to her tattoos. While she previously had a job, it didn’t last long.

Despite her difficulties, Melissa, a mother of two, remains willing to accept any job opportunity. She started getting tattoos at the age of 20 and admits to being addicted to them, especially on her face. Despite her employment struggles, she continues to get three new tattoos every week and plans to continue this trend even into her seventies.

Melissa’s face is completely covered in tattoos, with an estimated three layers of ink. She believes that her facial tattoos contribute to the judgment she faces from others. In addition to job rejections, she is barred from entering local bars and her children’s school. When she ventures outside, she endures derogatory comments and insults from people who view her as a “freak.”

Although Melissa rejected an offer for free laser treatment to remove her facial tattoos, citing the likelihood of getting new ones, she remains determined to achieve a record. Her goal is to be recognized by the Guinness World Records. Currently, the title of “most tattooed person” is held by Lucky Diamond Rich from New Zealand, while Charlotte Guttenberg from the USA holds the record for the most tattooed woman. Charlotte’s body is covered with tattoos on 98.75% of her skin and she achieved her record in 2017. She also holds the titles of “most tattooed female senior citizen” and “most feathers tattooed on the body.”
