A milk tea shop owner in QC was arrested for threatening three minors with an illegal firearm

QUEZON CITY – The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested a 34-year-old man who had threatened three minors and possessed an illegal firearm. The suspect, identified as Jose Monsior Agustin Ramos, owns a milk tea shop called Papa Pearl Milk Tea located in Barangay Greater Fairview.

The incident occurred at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday when the three 16-year-old victims were playing billiards at Ramos’ milk tea shop. While they decided to buy milk tea from an adjacent shop, Ramos became upset and confronted them, using offensive and inappropriate language, according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Elizabeth Jasmin, the Station Commander of Fairview Police Station 5.

Jasmin further explained that after confronting the minors, Ramos quickly retrieved his Glock air pistol, showed it to the victims, and threatened them with it. Fearing for their safety, the minors reported the incident to their parents, who immediately sought assistance from Police Station 5. As a result, Ramos was apprehended, and authorities discovered a Glock air pistol in his possession.

The QCPD stated that Ramos would face charges for violating two laws: Republic Act 7610, also known as the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act, and Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. These charges highlight the seriousness of his actions, emphasizing the protection of children from abuse and the illegal possession of firearms.
