Jeric Gonzales’s “sa kaniya ako napapagod” remark on Rabiya Mateo amuses netizens
JERIC GONZALES – The remark made by the Kapuso actor about his girlfriend, Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo, during their appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” amused netizens on social media.
It was just recently when the showbiz couple appeared on Boy Abunda’s talk show. At one point, Rabiya mentioned that Jeric is her “pahinga.” She said, “Since hindi kami magkasama sa work, pagdating sa bahay, parang siya yung pahinga ko.”
The King of Talk seemed impressed with what Rabiya said, so he asked Jeric a question. “Ganda naman niyan, ‘siya ang pahinga ko.’ Kung pahinga ka ni Rabiya, ano naman siya sa iyo?” asked Boy.
To which Jeric replied, making everyone burst into laughter, “Ah… sa kaniya ako napapagod.” This exchange became a topic of discussion on various social media platforms, and netizens had one common question for the couple: What kind of tiredness is that?
“Anong klaseng pagod ba yung ginagawa sa’yo ni Rabiya, Jeric? Hahaha,” a netizen commented. “Kung ganyan naman kasi kaguwapo at kacharming ang jowa mo, papagurin mo talaga hahaha,” another netizen noted.
Meanwhile, rumors of a romance between Rabiya Mateo and Jeric Gonzales started when they were spotted getting cozy at a theme park last December 2021. In February 2022, Rabiya hinted at being in a getting-to-know stage with someone she called Mr. “J,” who was believed to be Jeric.
Their relationship was officially confirmed in March 2022 when they posted sweet moments on Instagram. However, they allegedly broke up in June 2022 after unfollowing each other on social media. In December 2022, they were seen together again at an event.
In February 2023, Jeric hinted at their reconciliation during an interview, and he later confirmed their reconciliation through an Instagram post on Valentine’s Day.
