CARLOS AGASSI – The former “The Hunks” member was heavily criticized due to his newly released rap song titled “Milk Tea.”

Carlos Agassi, whose real name is Amir Carlos Damaso Vahidi Agassi is an actor, rap artist, host, and model. Agassi began his career in the entertainment industry when he was launched as a member of ABS-CBN’s Star Circle Batch 3 in 1993.

He gained prominence as a member of the male group “The Hunks,” alongside Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Diether Ocampo, and Bernard Palanca. During his time with The Hunks, he appeared in the popular teleserye “Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan” from 2001 to 2003, where he co-starred with Claudine Barretto.

In addition to acting, Agassi has also hosted various shows, including the variety show “ASAP” and the hidden camera practical joke series “Victim,” inspired by America’s “Punk’d.” After a hiatus from acting, he returned to television in ABS-CBN’s “Agua Bendita” in 2010, playing one of the primary antagonists. He has also appeared in GMA Network’s “Elemento” in 2014.

Currently, he’s creating a buzz online due to his single titled “Milk Tea.” Apparently, netizens, particularly the LGBTQIA+ community, criticized him for the song’s lyrics, which seemed to have a double meaning. Some even accused him of being “transphobic.”

“Pagbaba ng p@nty, mga mata’y napadilat. ‘Put*ng-ina,’ ako’y napamura sa gulat. Venti ang kaniyang milk tea! Sa dami ng binibini, nakabingwit ako ng binabaiiiiihhhh…” among the lines stated.

Transphobia refers to the dislike, prejudice, discrimination, or fear directed towards individuals who are transgender or whose gender identity does not conform to societal expectations or assigned s*x at birth. Transphobia can manifest in various ways, including verbal abuse, physical violence, exclusion, denial of rights, and societal marginalization.
