Allan K Declines “Double Your Price” Offer From TAPE to Remain as Host of Eat Bulaga

Allan K: “We were offered this much. Sabi namin, ‘Hindi naman po ganun kadaling magdesisyon. Can you give us time?”

ALLAN K -The comedian and TV host disclosed that he was approached by Television and Production Exponents Inc (TAPE) with an offer to remain a host on the popular noontime show, Eat Bulaga.

During an interview with Julius Babao, Allan K revealed that TAPE Inc, led by the Jalosjos family, intended to retain three original hosts of Eat Bulaga. It wasn’t until February that they started noticing some unusual developments within the show.

At a general meeting, Allan K, along with Jose Manalo and Wally Bayola, were presented with the opportunity to stay on Eat Bulaga. According to Allan, they were promised a significant increase in their compensation, but at the expense of removing the other hosts, excluding the iconic TVJ trio.

Allan recalled, “Nung una pa lang nag-general meeting… right there and then, in-announce na ire-retain, Jose, Wally, Allan.” He further explained that during a subsequent meeting, they were offered a considerable amount and requested time to make a decision, as it wasn’t an easy choice to make.

Allan K also revealed that Maine Mendoza was initially going to be removed from the show as well, but TAPE had a change of heart. In the second meeting, Maine was included in the offer of a doubled salary.

Tony Tuviera, the former CEO and President of TAPE, was reportedly powerless in this situation as he no longer had control over the production company. Allan expressed relief that they will remain together as a team and move to their new home at TV5, where their new show is set to premiere on July 1.
