QC Councilor Doray Delarmente furious at GMA reporter Jamie Santos
DORAY DELARMENTE – The Quezon City Councilor criticized GMA reporter Jamie Santos for falsely reporting about the death of her uncle, Ret. PB General George Ancheta Sr.
Delarmente claimed that Santos inaccurately stated that her uncle had left the house and returned, while witnesses confirmed he had not left at all. Delarmente accused Santos of causing great pain to their family through her false reporting and criticized her for irresponsible journalism by not confirming the information with the family beforehand.
Delarmente expressed her hope that Santos would rectify the mistake and avoid repeating it with other families.

Last May 17, 2023, my Uncle’s house got burned to the crisp, and he died. Immediately after the fire, you were there and reported on the event.
ISSUE #1 : FAKE NEWS
Jamie Santos, you reported na “lumabas yung senior citizen, at bumalik ulit ng bahay.”
For the record, and based on all the witnesses na kasama sa bahay … HINDI SIYA NAKALABAS NG BAHAY. My uncle, Retired Police Brig General George Ancheta, died inside … and HE DIDN’T HAVE A CHANCE TO GET OUT OF HIS HOUSE.
Your FALSE REPORTING has been causing so much pain in our family. SO. MUCH. PAIN.
ISSUE # 2 : IRRESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM
You reported that my uncle DIED on LIVE TV …. without even confirming if alam na ng pamilya!
His wife, who just got out of the house, was standing a few feet from you … and HINDI PA NIYA ALAM NA WALA NA ANG ASAWA NIYA. Sinisigaw niya yung pangalan ng asawa niya sa harap ng bahay. (Hindi mo ba iyon nakita? Sigurado ako nakita mo, kasi lahat ng miron na andoon nakita yun.) Yung 2 niyang anak na nasa abroad, hindi pa alam na patay na tatay nila. Yung kapatid niya, my mom, Former Councilor Tita Beth Delarmente … nalaman lang kasi napanood ka sa news!!! (emoji)
Is that RESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM? … Wala ba kayong “protocol” sa pagbabalita?
Hindi ba dapat ALAMIN MO MUNA kung alam na ng kaanak ng namatay ang impormasyon, bago mo ito ibalita sa buong mundo???
Ms. Jamie Santos, wala ka bang pamilya???
ISSUE # 3: INSENSITIVITY
Yung kasambahay namin na si Andrew ay nakita 2 hours after the fire dahil na trap sa likod ng bahay. Lumabas na basang basa, may mga sunog sa katawan, sunog ang damit at nagka-smoke inhalation ….
TAPOS BIGLA MONG ISASALANG SA LIVE INTERVIEW??? …. May trauma pa yung tao. Tuliro. Wala sa sarili. Lutang. Sa tingin mo makakakuha ka ng tamang impormasyon sa kanya?
HINDI BA PWEDENG IPA MEDIC MO MUNA, IPA CHECK SA AMBULANSYA, LAGYAN NG OXYGEN BAGO MO INTERVIEWHIN? Sana man lang pinag palit mo muna ng tuyong tshirt bago sinalang on air…… Nasaan ang pagmamalasakit niyo? Mas importante ba na maka kuha kayo ng news kaysa sa buhay ng tao? Paano kung biglang mag collapse yun sa harap mo? … Alam mo ba na tinakbo siya sa East Avenue Hospital pagkatapos mo interviewhin?
Nawalan na kami ng kapamilya … tapos nagdagdag pa kayo sa pasakit na nararamdaman namin.
