Pageant judge accused by Miss Gay contestant of being unfair
MISS GAY – A video of a contestant calling out a judge for giving her a low score has gone viral on TikTok.
The incident is said to have taken place during the Miss Gay pageant in Talavera, Nueva Ecija. Contestant No. 4 accused the judges of being unfair, leading to many contestants backing out of the competition.
She questioned why a high score was given to a contestant who had given an incorrect answer, and the audience supported her. “Isa rin po sana ako sa magba-backout pero I push through kasi inisip ko ngayong gabi ay walang mangyayaring ganito pong eksena. Pero para ibagsak po ako ng 30%, if that judge actually gave me at least 90 or 91%, I should have won the title. Pero ‘yung isang judge po na nagbigay sa akin ng 30%, siya po ang nagbagsak sa akin to be the second-runner up,” she said.
She added that she did not have anything against Contestant No. 6, whom she loved because they shared insights with each other. However, she pointed out that the other contestant’s answer was incorrect as “vices” meant “bisyo” in Filipino and not “advices”.
She appealed to the organizers not to give such low scores to candidates in the future, saying that she had done her best. In the end, the contestant tearfully accepted the second runner-up crown, envelope, and sash before walking out.
