Here’s an update about Ricky Rivero
RICKY RIVERO – The actor-director has recovered after suffering from a stroke several days ago. He was rushed to the hospital and is currently confined in Room 309 (Petal 3A) at the Philippine Heart Center.
Ricky felt dizzy and experienced vertigo, prompting him to call an ambulance to take him to the hospital’s emergency room. Prior to his stroke, Ricky had been expressing different emotions on his Facebook account, such as anxiety attacks and not feeling well.
During the screening of his directorial debut film, D Aswang Slayerez, he confided that he was having difficulty walking and sometimes needed a wheelchair due to his weight. Ricky had suffered a stroke before in 2015, but he was able to recover from it.
Ricky’s sister Isabelle has confirmed that his condition has improved and that he wants to thank everyone who helped and prayed for his recovery. However, he still needs financial assistance and has provided his GCash number for those who can help him.
“Hi po, okey naman na po ang condition niya. Pinata-type po [niya] sa akin ngayon na gusto niyang mag-thank you sa lahat ng tumulong sa kanya and nag-pray para sa recovery niya. Update na lang po namin kayo ulit,” she said.
Ricky, who is turning 51 on May 25, has directed several ABS-CBN hit series, including Mula Sa Puso, Eva Fonda, and Forevermore, among others. According to his doctor, he will remain at the Philippine Heart Center for two more weeks due to partial paralysis in the left side of his body, which is not responding well.
