EUGENE DOMINGO – The comedienne recently spoke about her love story with her husband, Italian film critic Danilo Bottoni.
The comedienne appeared on Wednesday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” where she shared how she and her partner first met.
According to the comedienne, she and the film critic met each other at the Udine Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy where her movie “Barber’s Tales” was being shown at that time.
Eugene said in an interview with Boy Abunda that she was alone, exhausted in life, and already surrendering a life of being single back then. However, she shared that Danilo appeared in front of her all of a sudden.
“I was already surrendering a life of, like, you know, being single, or maybe I could enter the convent, ‘yun ‘yung iniisip ko,” she said. “Then, all of a sudden, he appeared in front of me, and I was scared because baka, you know, baka stalker or something.”

The comedienne learned that Danilo is a film critic and “a lover of Asian films” as he watched all Filipino movies. According to her, he watched her movies like “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” and “Kimmy Dora”.
Eugene went on to share that he invited her to have an interview, but she replied that he should ask for permission. She said that his eyes are beautiful and she also saw how handsome he was when he interviewed her at the film festival at that time.
When she went back to the Philippines, she said she wrote to Danilo’s editor and introduced herself as an actress from the Philippines and said she just wanted to thank the writer who interviewed her.
“At doon, sumagot na siya sa email and ‘yun na nga,” Eugene said.
She also said she can turn her back on her showbiz career for love.
