MOUNT APO – Social media users were entertained by photos showing a woman who appeared to have reached the summit of the highest mountain (peak) and volcano in the Philippines with her friends’ help.

Mountain climbing, also known as mountaineering, is the sport or activity of climbing mountains. It typically involves ascending steep slopes, cliffs, and ridges using specialized equipment and techniques such as ropes, harnesses, crampons, and ice axes.

Mountain climbing can be a challenging and dangerous activity that requires physical fitness, technical skill, and careful planning. It can be done for various reasons, such as personal accomplishment, adventure, exploration, or scientific research. Mountain climbing can range from simple hikes on easy trails to more difficult and technical climbs that require extensive training and experience.

Speaking of which, social media users were entertained by photos showing a woman who appeared to have reached the summit of Mt. Apo with her friends’ help.

In the photos shared by Jhoan Lou Paloma, a life-size tarpaulin of her friend is seen at the summit of Mount Apo. The tarpaulin featured a woman wearing complete gear as if she has reached the top of the highest mountain in the Philippines.

According to Paloma, a mountaineer from Davao who has climbed Mount Apo six times, her friend asked to join them a week before the hike. However, Paloma did not allow her friend to join them because she knew her friend would find the climb challenging. Instead of personally climbing the mountain, her friend’s tarpaulin was brought along during the climb on April 15.

Paloma advised those who want to climb the mountain, saying, “Mountain climbing is a great way to push yourself, but it is important to look after yourself. Check the weather and be prepared. Be physically and mentally prepared. Breakfast before the trek. At yung tubig, dapat ‘di ka maubusan.”
