VP Sara Duterte and Mar Roxas Meet During Capiztahan Festival

During Capiztahan Festival, VP Sara Duterte got a chance to meet with Mar Roxas

SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines met former Senator Mar Roxas during the Capiztahan Festival.

Sara Duterte, whose full name is Sara Zimmerman Duterte-Carpio, is a lawyer and politician who is currently serving as the Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines. At the same time, she’s the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd). Sara is the daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte.

On the other hand, Mar Roxas, whose full name is Manuel “Mar” Araneta Roxas II, is a politician who has held various government positions. He was a member of the Philippine Senate from 2004 to 2010 and served as the Secretary of the Department of Transportation and Communications, Department of Trade and Industry, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government during his political career. Roxas has also run for President in the national elections in 2016 but was not successful in winning the presidency.

Recently, Roxas, who lost his attempt at a political comeback in 2019, made a rare public appearance during the 75th death anniversary of late President Manuel Roxas. The event took place as part of the Capiztahan Festival held in Capiz.

Photos posted on social media showed Roxas engaging in conversation with Vice President Sara Duterte, who is the child of his political rival, former President Rodrigo Duterte. Although there are no details available about their discussion, the photos from SMNI confirmed that the two had a brief interaction.

Vice President Duterte stated that the annual tradition was held to honor and remember the patriotic contributions of former President Roxas to the country. It’s worth noting that Mar Roxas is the grandchild of former President Roxas, adding significance to his presence at the event.
