Lucky Employee Wins Paid Leave of 365 Days
SHENZHEN, CHINA – A lucky employee holding a managerial position rejoiced after winning 365 days of paid leave in a company raffle.
Reportedly, a male employee at a company in Shenzhen, China wins 365 days of paid leave during the company’s annual dinner on April 9, 2023, as captured in a video uploaded to the Chinese social media site Weibo.
The man can be seen in the video carrying a cardboard check that says “365 days of paid leave.” He is a manager at the company and was proclaimed the winner of a raffle draw that was conducted as a method for staff to de-stress.
The raffle took place during the company’s annual dinner, which had not been done in three years. The lucky draw featured only one grand prize, the annual paid vacation, with the other awards being rather minor.
The woman conveying the events in the video stated that the winner was stunned and repeatedly inquired if the award was real. Even the winner’s supervisor was caught off guard as the grand reward was extremely tough to obtain.
Surprisingly, the company also gave the winner the choice of using all of the granted leaves or exchanging them for cash. Given that the winner’s profession already requires travel, numerous viewers suggested that he cash in a large portion of the leaves and use them as add-ons to his business trips.
On the other hand, some readers sarcastically advised the winner not to use all of his vacation time, fearing that he would irritate his supervisors by being absent frequently and possibly being replaced.
Nonetheless, the winner now has the enviable task of deciding how to effectively use his big amount of leave days in order to make his fellow workers happy.
