Cristine Reyes speaks on her former “tropa” Marco Gumabao
CRISTINE REYES – The actress has finally confirmed her relationship with her former “tropa” Marco Gumabao.
On Wednesday night, April 26, 2023, she took to the social networking site, Facebook wherein she updated her display picture. In the photo, the 28-year-old actor can be seen embracing the 34-year-old actress while kissing her on the head. Her post was accompanied by the caption: “Definitely not Tropa anymore [peace sign, heart, finger heart emojis] #HOME”.
It can be recalled that it was in 2019 when the word “tropa” made a buzz online after Cristine was asked if Marco was “Jojowain o Totropahin”. At the time, Cristine was only 30 years old while Marco was 24.
It happened on the defunct show of ABS-CBN called “Tonight with Boy Abunda” hosted by Boy Abunda. Among those who were featured during Cristine’s guesting is no other than Marco Gumabao. The actress, on the other hand, immediately answered that the actor is a “tropa.”
She explained that she and Marco were just friends and the actor was too young to be her boyfriend. “Si Marco, we’re friends. Ang bata pa ni Marco. Ano ako, cougar?” she said. “Cougar” is a slang term that means a woman having a relationship with a younger guy.
Meanwhile, it was on Monday, April 24 when Marco Gumabao himself publicized his relationship with the actress. Among those who supported them is Cristine’s sister Ara Mina.
“Please take care and love my sister, okay? Make her happy. Please love also her daughter kasi siyempre may plus one na agad yan,” she said. Cristine had a daughter with her ex-husband Ali Khatibi.
