Pio Balbuena Hospitalized Due to AVMs: ‘First time kong naranasan ma-catheter’

Pio Balbuena hospitalized due to AVMs

PIO BALBUENA – The content creator was hospitalized due to Arteriovenous malformations or AVMs.

Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are abnormal connections between arteries and veins, without the presence of normal capillaries in between. Normally, blood flows from arteries to capillaries and then to veins. However, in AVMs, blood flows directly from the arteries to the veins, bypassing the capillaries, which can cause problems.

AVMs can occur anywhere in the body but are most commonly found in the brain and spinal cord. In the brain, AVMs can cause headaches, seizures, or bleeding, which can lead to a stroke. AVMs can also occur in other organs, such as the lungs, liver, or kidneys.

The cause of AVMs is not fully understood, but they are believed to be the result of abnormal development of blood vessels before birth. AVMs can be diagnosed through imaging tests such as MRI or angiography, and treatment options include surgery, embolization, or radiation therapy, depending on the size and location of the AVM and the individual patient’s health status.

Recently, the rapper and content creator took to the social networking site, Facebook wherein he posted a video of himself while at the hospital. At the beginning of his clip, he couldn’t help but turn emotional. According to him, it was the very first time for him to use a catheter and diaper.

His doctors later revealed that he was diagnosed with arteriovenous malformations or AVMs. Watch the video below:

In the same video, Pio Balbuena stressed that health is the greatest wealth. Meanwhile, Pio Balbuena is one of the founding members of “Team Tambay.”
