Jake Zyrus’s Mother Raquel Pempengco: “Buhay pa si Charice!”

Raquel Pempengco addresses detractors over recent comment

RAQUEL PEMPENGCO – The mother of Charice Pempengco, who’s now known as Jake Zyrus, reacted to criticisms she has been receiving.

It was just recently when the mother of the singer went to social media wherein she shared her thoughts about her child Charice aka Jake Zyrus following the concert of David Foster. According to her, her daughter is an unparalleled legendary singer and cannot be replaced by anyone else. Raquel claimed that she knows the kind of voice David Foster is looking forward to hear whenever someone sings his song, like the voice of Charice.

In the same post, although she did not drop any name, it can be deduced that she was not impressed in the duet of Morissette and David Foster. She noted that there were no goosebumps or standing ovation after their performance. She then stressed: “Nag iisang legendary ng Pilipinas si Charice Pempengco.” In the last part of her post, she claimed that it was Oprah Winfrey who made Charice famous and not David Foster.

Her remarks earned mixed reations from the netizens. Among the comments that she received via an article of PEP.ph were the following; “Isa na lamang alaala si Charice.” “Wala na si Charice.” “Di ba patay na si Charice?” “The design is very bitter.” and “Sinira ni Charice ang boses niya.”

Raquel Pempengco has reacted on the comments she received. According to her, “Si Charice pa rin naman si Jake. Nag-iba nga lang ng genre. Ano ba naman yung mga tao na yan? Buhay pa si Charice. Kahit baguhin pa ang name niya, si Charice pa rin yan.”
