Cong. Arnie Teves’ Brother Speaks on Accusations vs. Older Brother
ARNIE TEVES’ BROTHER – Former Negros Oriental Governor Pryde Henry Teves revealed the stand of their family on calls for the Congressman to go home.
Amid the accusations linking him to the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo, the province’s 3rd District Representative, Cong. Arnie Teves, has yet to return to the country. His travel clearance expired last March 9 and he had an extended stay overseas.
One of the suspects in the Degamo case accused Teves as the alleged mastermind behind the plot against the Negros Oriental Governor. Several authorities including House Speaker Martin Romualdez advised the Congressman to go home and face the allegations against him.
Even President Bongbong Marcos extended the call for Cong. Arnie Teves’ coming home. The authorities assured him that security will be extended to him when he comes home. The Congressman said he is concern about his safety so he has yet to return to the country.
The House of Representatives suspeded Teves from his congressional seat for 60 days after he failed to come home following the expiry of his travel clearance. The widow of the late Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo is also pushing for the expulsion of Teves from Congress.
Recently, former Negros Oriental Gov. Pryde Henry Teves broke his silence on the issues surrounding his older brother, Cong. Arnie Teves. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, he also revealed their family’s stand over the calls for his older brother to come home to the Philippines.
Cong. Arnie Teves’ brother believes that it is time for the Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative to come home and face the accusations against. According to him, he talked to their brothers and parents and they all hope that the Congressman will decide to go home.
While he recognizes that it will the decision of his older brother, Cong. Arnie Teves’ younger brother stressed that they are of opinion. He stressed that even Pres. Bongbong Marcos extended an offer to strengthen the safety of the Congressman.
