Fans were thrilled in the upcoming ending of drama fantasy series based on the novels of José Rizal: Noli Me Tángere and El Filibusterismo. Previously, Klay, a Gen-Z nursing student who gets transported into the setting of Rizal’s books has returned to the real world.

She gets transported to the Rizal Monument in Luneta Park. The said episode was so emotional, but some netizens were distracted by a building in the background.

On social media, netizens expressed their frustration at Torre de Manila which can be seen behind the monument of Rizal. The scene also revived the petition to demolish the controversial building.

It can be recalled that it was in 2012 when Torre de Manila was constructed. However, due to petition, the construction was halted temporarily. But in 2017, the attempts to stop its construction failed after a court ruled in favor of the Torre de Manila.

Meanwhile, Maria Clara at Ibarra stars with Barbie Forteza as María Clara “Klay” Infantes, Julie Anne San Jose as María Clara “Clarita” de los Santos y Alba, Dennis Trillo as Juan Crisóstomo Ibarra y Magsalin/Simoun and David Licauco as Fidel de los Reyes y Maglipol.

The series will be replaced by another fantasy series, Mga Lihim ni Urduja, starring Sanya Lopez, Kylie Padilla and Gabbi Garcia.
