JOPAY – A rondalla and violin cover of the hit song popularized by Mayonnaise has gone viral online, garnering praises from the netizens.

Jopay is a hit song of Filipino alternative rock band, Mayonnaise. It became popular in 2022 thanks to TikTok via the “Greatest What If” video, which was inspired by the 2022 film “Ngayon Kaya” starring Janine Gutierrez and Paolo Avelino.

Jopay became popular that it even reached the Gen Z and Gen Alpha. The song also peaked at number 10 on the Spotify Top 50 Philippines. Due to its popularity, the song has gotten the most requests when other bands or artists perform live or busk in 2022.

As of posting, rondalla and violin cover of Jopay which was posted on social media by a certain Marco Polo Ignacio has already earned more than 3k reactions and over 51k views.

Meanwhile, Mayonnaise is a Filipino alternative rock band composed of vocalist Monty Macalino, drummer Shan Regalado, guitarist Carlo Servano, bass guitarist Nikki Tirona, and guitarist Keano Swing. The group rose to fame after winning the “Red Horse Muziklaban” contest in 2004.

Aside from Jopay, the group is also behind the hit songs; Tayo Na Lang Dalawa, Kapag Lasing Malambing, Bakit, Pt. 2, Ipagpatawad Mo, Paraan, Sinungaling, Binaliwala and to name a few.
