Moreno served as a mayor of Manila City before he decided to run to a higher post, as the president of the Republic of the Philippines. However, he and other candidates were defeated by sitting President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Now, he has returned to show business and is gearing up for his role as former Senator Ninoy Aquino in the movie, Martyr or Murderer, the sequel of Maid in Malacanang, directed by Darryl Yap.

During the media conference of the movie on Monday night, February 20, 2023, he admitted that he immediately accepted the role because for him, it was an honor to be part of the said movie.

Also present in the media conference is Senator Imee Marcos who was “nagulat nang bonggang-bongga” when she learned that Isko Moreno agreed to portray the role of the former senator.

When asked for a response on the reaction of Senator Imee, he said: “Good thing coming from the senator kasi wala akong ampalaya sa buhay.” The former Manila Mayor acknowledged that in a competition, there is a winner and losser.

The next day, there’s a new day, there’s new life. Even Imee can attest to this, Bonget… sorry I call him Bonget kapag medyo kilala mo… President Bongbong Marcos is also a mutual… parang… alam nila produkto nila ako,” he added.

Isko Moreno then shared that he graduated from Tondo High School which was built by former First Lady Imelda Marcos. “Wala akong asim sa kanila. It’s just so happen that we competed and I lost, and that’s it. Nandoon na yung tuldok ng buhay. Ngayon, I’m trying to make a living,” he said.
