Bam Aquino remembers Kakampinks
BAM AQUINO – The former senator took to social media wherein he thanked the “Kakampinks.”
The term “Kakampink” is derived from the Filipino word “kakampi,” which means ally, and the color pink. It refers to a group of civic-minded Filipinos who came together on their own initiative to support the former vice president of the Philippines, Leonor “Leni” Robredo, who ran for president in the May 2022 elections.
Despite Robredo’s defeat in the polls, the Kakampinks have come together to form the Angat Buhay social movement, which aims to uphold Robredo’s beliefs in public service, good governance, and the suppression of misinformation on social media.
Although Robredo and her running mate, former Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, failed to covet two of the highest government positions way back the election period, the impact they left among their supporters was massive.
In a social media post, the former senator remembered a happy memory he had with the Kakampinks. “Habang-buhay na pasasalamat sa lahat ng bumuo at naging bahagi ng ating kwento” he noted as the caption to his post.
The photo shared by Aquino showed an influx of many people who supported Robredo during her candidacy. His post generated reactions from the Kakampinks as well.
“Best moment ever for this country. Kahit hindi sya ang nakaupo sya pa rin ang Presidente ko wala ng iba. Tumayo ako at tumindig kasama ng buong pamilya ko. No regrets kasi deep inside alam namin na tama ang desisyon namin at proud na proud kami na si Leni/Kiko ang binoto namin,” a netizen commented.
