Netizen Flexes Cousin’s “Handa” on New Year’s Eve: “Dinosaur ang handa nung bagong taon”

Lechon dinosaur?

DINOSAUR?! – A male netizen took to social media wherein he flexed the lechon his female cousin had on New Year’s Eve.

Filipino families prepare a meal called media noche (Spanish for “midnight”) in the late hours of December 31 to be consumed shortly after the start of January 1. Families typically enjoy their media noche after the fireworks display at midnight on January 1. This dinner at midnight is an expression of optimism for the next year and joy at having lived another year on earth.

This event is distinct from Noche Buena, which is held on December 24 to celebrate Christmas. Even the food served during Media Noche and Noche Buena is different.

The centerpiece of every meal table in the Philippines during Media Noche is usually 12 spherical fruits, if not more. The placement of 12 fruits is thought to bring luck for the following year in Chinese tradition. Fruits including watermelon, apples, oranges, pomelo, grapes, and melon are among those you’ll discover in this centerpiece.

The main course of Filipino Media Noche feasts is lechon, a roasted pork. Everyone wants to eat lechon because of its tender meat, crunchy skin, and sauce. Due to its flavor and exorbitant cost, lechon is frequently the focal point of any celebration. Every year, lechon is one of the most sought-after dishes despite having a very high cholesterol content.

Meanwhile, a male netizen took to the social media page, Homebuddies 3.0 wherein he flexed the lechon her cousin had on New Year’s Eve. His post was accompanied by the caption: “Flex ko lang yung pinsan ko si Apple Flores na nkaka luwag luwag na at Dinosaur ang handa nung bagong taon.”

As expected, the post of a certain John Elbert Flores Hizon generated mixed reactions from netizens. Some netizens claimed that it was a “lechon baka.” Here are the comments of some netizens:
