It was just recently when a certain Marilou D. Nuevo took to social media wherein she posted a photo of her daughter France Vianney D. Nuevo, an 11-year-old Grade 6 student of Our Lady of Remedios Montessori School.

In the photo, she was doing an impression of Gregoria de Jesus as part of her project for Araling Panlipunan (AP) subject. Accordingly, they were tasked to find a Filipino hero they wanted to imitate.

The student had chosen Gregoria de Jesus, the wife of Andres Bonifacio. Marilou believes that her daughter achieved copying the looks of Oriang.

“Project in Araling Panlipunan. Maghanap ng bayani na nais gayahin. Na-achieve naman ni Ycay na gayahin si Gregoria De Jesus sa larawang ito. Pati nunal ginaya. Dahil d’yan 98 daw ang grade n’ya sa project na ito at dinisplay daw ang kanyang project sa room ni teacher. Mahusay, anak!” she noted as the caption of her post.

In an interview with Balita Online, Marilou said that her daughter noticed her resemblance to Oriang especially with the shape of her face.

Meanwhile, the wife of Andres Bonifacio founded and served as vice-president of the women’s chapter of the Katipunan.

She has significant role in the Philippine Revolution. She married Julio Nakpil, one of the revolution’s generals, after Bonifacio passed away. She had five children with Julio Nakpil and one son with the “Father of the Philippine Revolution”.
