Chito posted on his social media account a series of photos with the band’s guitarist Gab Chee Kee and gave an update about his health condition.

On Wednesday, the band vocalist said that Gab has been diagnosed with lymphoma “last year and has been undergoing chemotherapy for the past few months.”

He shared that Gab was “relatively doing OK” despite his situation and he thought it would be best not to let the public know what he was going through because he didn’t want anyone worrying about him.

With this, he said that Gab continued to play until he was asked by his doctor to stop in order for him to take a rest.

I asked my bandmates na kung pwede, wag nalang din muna kami tumugtog habang wala si Gab,” Chito said. “Pero kina-usap kami ni Gab and asked us to continue playing, because he doesn’t want us to stop playing just because we’re waiting for him to get better.

He added that the band continued playing as they owe it to the guitarist, but complications arose from Gab’s condition.

According to him, the band guitarist is currently battling pneumonia, adding that Gab was recently transferred to ICU and has been intubated for “more than a week already”.

Chito said that Gab initially didn’t want to ask for assistance but was convinced by his family and other musicians. With this, he said that they will conduct fundraising gigs in order to help Gab.

The band vocalist went on to thank fellow musicians Ebe Dancel, Moira Dela Torre, Shanti Dope, Gloc-9, Flow G, and other bands Gracenote, Kamikazee, and December Avenue.
