Miss Planet International is an annual global beauty pageant for single women. Contestants compete for the title on an international stage.

It is a movement that seeks to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and as such, they have created a pageant in search of an ambassador in each country to effect change in their societies in order to provide a better future for future generations. This pageant offers an ideal blend of culture, advocacy, and a high-quality show.

The pageant was supposed to hold its coronation night last November 19, 2022, in Kampala, Uganda. However, due to some reasons, it was postponed and rescheduled for January 23 which will be held in Cambodia.

Among the candidates who joined the said pageant is television personality Herlene Budol. However, she decided to back out even before the announcement of the pageant’s cancellation.

In an interview with Boy Abunda, her manager Wilbert Tolentino, who accompanied her all throughout, revealed that he spent millions on the team he brought to Uganda. Their team was composed of 50 people, according to him.

Since they backed out from the pageant, he toured his team instead. When asked what’s the reason why he spent millions on the pageant, he said he was just after the pride of the country. Watch his interview in the video provided below:
