Mother’s instinct! Sara Duterte captures attention of netizens for her gesture toward a student

SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President of the Republic of the Philippines caught the attention of netizens after being spotted fixing the shoelace of student she’s talking to.

Sara Vicenta Zimmerman Duterte-Carpio, the 15th and current Vice President of the Philippines, is a lawyer and politician. She is the country’s third female vice president, the third from Mindanao, and the youngest vice president in Philippine history.

Duterte ran for vice president in 2022 as part of the Lakas-CMD ticket, becoming Bongbong Marcos’ running mate in the UniTeam Alliance. Their ticket was a landslide winner, making them the first running mate pair to win together since 2004 and the first to be elected by a majority since the establishment of the Fifth Republic in 1986. On June 30, 2022, Duterte was sworn in as Vice President in Davao City.

The daughter of former President Rodrigo Duterte is also the Secretary of the Department of Education, a position he holds concurrently. She previously served as mayor of Davao City from 2016 to 2022 and from 2010 to 2013. She was also the vice mayor of Davao City from 2007 to 2010.

Meanwhile, Sara Duterte caught the attention of netizens after fixing the shoelace of the student she’s talking to. It was captured during the launching of the free WiFi program of San Juan LGU at the Pinaglabanan Elementary School last November 16.

The Education secretary was interviewing one of the students when she noticed the his shoelace were untied. With her instinct as a mother, she did not hesitate to fix the shoelace of the student. Her gesture which was uploaded on the Facebook page, 31 Million Movement, caught the attention of netizens.
