JODI STA. MARIA – The actress recently revealed the reason why she chose to stay after nearly leaving the showbiz industry.
The actress made the revelation during a press huddle last December 14 to celebrate her recent win as “Best Actress” for “The Broken Marriage Vow” in the Asian Academy Creative Awards.
Jodi considered leaving the showbiz industry as recently as last year, but she decided to, in her words, take a “U-turn” instead.
She even remembered the precise date she seriously began contemplating on a career switch after more than 20 years in front of the camera. It was December 23, 2021, the day Jodi finished filming what would become the acclaimed TV series “The Broken Marriage Vow”.
According to her, she didn’t think she has anything left to give and she felt like she has exhausted what she can give as an actress.
“To be very honest, oo, pumasok ‘yan sa isip ko. Especially ‘pag may mga panahon na you’re just physically tired and emotionally exhausted, maiisip mo siya, eh,” she shared. “But then, kung iisipin mo, we can make plans talaga for our lives.”
The actress also said that the Lord is still the one who directs people’s steps to where they are going at the end of the day.

That purpose was made tangible anew to her when the Kapamilya series received successive international recognition after its June conclusion. According to a report, the Kapamilya series also won best TV adaptation at the recent ContentAsia Awards.
Jodi had already envisioned a different life for her 5 years from now.
The actress mentioned spending more time with her teenage son, Thirdy, and also mentioned the possibility of continuing her studies after earning a psychology degree last year.
