Earlier today, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) stated that in the next 24 hours, the shear line will bring moderate to heavy rains, with at times intense rains, over eastern Visayas.

The state weather bureau added that rainfall will be moderate to heavy in Palawan, Bohol, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga. On the other hand, flooding and rain-induced landslides are expected, especially in places that are very or very highly susceptible to these hazards as identified on hazard maps and in regions with large antecedent rainfall.

The general public is urged to take all essential precautions to protect life and property, along with the concerned disaster risk reduction and management offices. Regional service divisions of Pagasa may issue alerts of localized heavy rainfall, rainfall/thunderstorm advisories, and other information about severe weather that is exclusive to their respective jurisdictions. The next weather advisory will be issued at 11:00 pm today.
