It was just recently when singer Richard Merk took to the social networking site, Facebook wherein he expressed sympathy to the bereaved family of the broadcaster. “Rest in peace Tito Mike. We will all miss you. A great loss to the news industry. Labyu Tito. My sincere condolences to your loving family and friends. Enjoy the company of our dear creator in heaven.”

According to the singer, he learned about the passing of Enriquez via the post of the character actress, Loly Mara, who’s a close friend of Mike’s wife. Her post was accompanied by a photo of them taken three years ago.

But after an hour, Loly took to social media anew wherein she apologized. She said some people told her that Mike Enriquez is “very much alive.”

Mike Enriquez himself debunked the fake news. In a phone call with fellow Kapuso broadcaster Arnold Clavio, he told the latter that he’s indeed alive.

Arnold, on the other hand, went to Facebook wherein he announced that the news about Mike’s passing is “fake news.” He wrote: “Mga minamahal, nakausap ko po si Ama, Mr. Mike Enriquez. Buhay na buhay at ang kanyang mensahe: FAKE NEWS!”

Meanwhile, the public cannot be blamed for their concern and reaction to the news that Mike has passed away since he was not seen on 24 Oras for a long time. It might have something to do with his medical leave, since he underwent a kidney transplant procedure in December 2021.
