Former US Pres. Donald Trump To Run for the Presidency Again
DONALD TRUMP – The former United States President announced that he will run for the presidency again in the 2024 Election.
Undeniably, it is quite common in elections in most countries that there are already talks on the possible candidates months before the filing of candidacy. What is quite unusual are confirmations of candidacy years before an election is set to take place – and that is what recently took the social media by storm in the United States.
Former U.S. Pres. Donald Trump announced that he will run again for the president in the 2024 Election. Based on an article on NPR, the announcement took place at his Mar-a-Lago club and home with massive American flags around.
During the announcement of his presidential bid for the next election which is set two (2) years from now, former U.S. Pres. Trump told everyone present at his club that “your country is being destroyed before your eyes”.
The announcement came after the 2022 midterm elections which yield a result that favored the Democrats gaining control in the Senate and House races. Based on the report, many of the Republicans supported by Trump did not perform well in the election results.
In 2020, it was a tight presidential race between then outgoing U.S. Pres. Donald Trump and former U.S. Vice Pres. Joe Biden with the latter winning the race. It was followed by chaos at the Capitol which earned the former President complaints.
Previously, U.S. Pres. Joe Biden also expressed an intention to run again in the next presidential election. The Chief Executive who turned 80 years old on Sunday expressed that his intention is with the support of his wife, the First Lady.
