Chito Miranda whose real name is Alfonso Yanga Miranda Jr. is a singer-songwriter who’s known as one of the founding members and lead singers of the band Parokya ni Edgar. The band is also composed of Buwi Meneses on bass guitar, Darius Semaña on lead guitar, Gab Chee Kee on rhythm guitar, Dindin Moreno on drums, percussion, and Vinci Montaner on backing vocals.

Originally, Parokya ni Edgar was called ‘Comic Relief’. However, they decided to change the name in homage to a Noli me tangere joke in their student days.

Miranda is good friends with fellow Filipino artists Kamikazee vocalist Jay Contreras, and rappers Gloc-9 and the late Francis Magalona. Chito Miranda is married to former actress-turned-businesswoman Neri Naig. The two have two kids already.

Recently, he went to the social media platform, Instagram wherein he revealed the story behind their hit song Mang Jose. According to him, it all started when Buwi was asked to come up with a song for Ragnarok, an online game. Buwi was able to come up with the music while Chito came up with the lyrics until they made a song and called it “Raimusen.”

Chito said “Rai” is of Japanese origin which means “trust” and “lightning” or “thunder” while “Musen” means without money, actually “no need for money”. Originally, the song goes like this: “Raimusen! Raimusen! Ang superhero na pwedeng arkilahin. Raimusen, parang si Daimos din. Ngunit pagkatapos ay bigla kang sisingilin…Raimusen”

He then told Buwi not to give the song to Ragnarok and include it in their album instead. Reluctantly, their bassist agreed. Then, Darrius suggested changing it to “Mang Jose”.
