Did you know Lyca Gairanod is an NBSB?
LYCA GAIRANOD – The singer and newbie actress admitted in an interview that she’s an NBSB or No Boyfriend Since Birth.
Lyca rose to fame after winning the first season of The Voice Kids Philippines.
Eventually, she landed a recording contract with MCA Music Inc. (Philippines).
Apart from her singing career, she also ventured into acting. Her first acting stint was via an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya wherein she portrayed herself.
Then, she guested in ABS-CBN’s Hawak-Kamay.
Gairanod was born into a poor family– whose earlier source of income is thru selling plastic materials, bottles, and other recyclable items.
Her father was a fisherman, and her mother scavenged used bottles and old newspapers. At the time, Gairanod helped her mother by singing for their neighbors in exchange for money and food.
Today, she’s considered one of the most popular singers in the country.
Aside from being a singer, she’s venturing into acting.
She’s part of the Viva Films’ mystery-horror movie Mary Cherry Chua starring Ashley Diaz, the daughter of actor Joko Diaz.
In the digital story conference of the movie, the singer admitted that she’s NBSB or had no boyfriend since birth.
“Wala pa po, eh,” said the 17-year-old singing champion of The Voice Kids Philippines season 1.
According to Lyca, she’s not in a hurry to have a boyfriend but she’s hoping that her soon-to-be boyfriend will understand her situation and support what she does to her family.
