Maria Socorro “Kuh” Hashim Ledesma has been a part of the music industry for over 40 years.

She has performed in over 1,000 concerts around the world, earning her numerous awards.

Her musical career began while she was still a nursing student at Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod, when she joined the Lastiko band (formerly known as Ensalada band) in Bacolod.

Ledesma completed the program, passed the Philippine National Nursing Board Exam, and became a registered nurse.

Later, Ledesma and her bandmates Toto Gentica and Jet Montelibano relocated to Manila to form the Music & Magic band, which proved pivotal in her career.

She went on to play the lead in Alice Reyes’s pop ballet Rama Hari.

She eventually went solo with her first hit song, “Dito Ba?”

Luisito “Louie” Gonzalez was Ledesma’s husband (grandson of Elpidio Quirino, sixth President of the Philippines from 1948 to 1953).

For the very first time, Kuh Ledesma opened up about her failed marriage.

The Pop Diva will join Jaya and Pops Fernandez in their upcoming concert titled 3 Divas which will be held at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Coachella Valley, California, on November 12, 2022.

In a sideline interview, Ledesma opened up about her failed marriage.

Alam niyo ba na si Jaya noong nag-Power of Two [concert nila noon ni Jaya] kami, noon ako nakipaghiwalay sa husband ko? And I was so broken. A few days na lang, mag-o-open na kami, tumawag ako kay Tita Pilits [Pilita Corrales, former manager ni Jaya].

She told Corales to give her another two weeks because “iiiyak ko lang ito.”

“Talagang wala akong maisip kundi the pain, the betrayal, and all that. But noong nag-show na kami, talagang ang ganda ng repartee at duets namin,” she added.
